Intensive Scene Study Class.jpg

Do you have a consistent, effective way of approaching material? Are you confident about what to do once you've received a script, audition sides, scenes, etc? How do we get these things "off the ground"?

This class is designed to give the actor a legitimate approach that will easily get him from point A to point B in his scene work. You will be given a set of tools that will enable you to work on any kind of material taking it from paper to behavior, which is the actor's ultimate task:  to create human, truthful, alive acting from a piece of paper given to him by the author.

  •   Class meets once a week
  •   Tuition: $ 185 per month
  •   Classes are ongoing

The Conservatory offers a two year program on The Meisner Technique, as it was intended by Mr. Sanford Meisner, with no adaptations, no interpretations, nothing that could corrupt the legendary teacher's technique.

"My first contact with the Meisner Technique happened in 2002, when I studied with Billy Milionis in Sydney, Australia. At that time, this incredible technique made a huge impact not only in my acting, but in my personal life, as well. It wasn't until I moved to Los Angeles that I was able to get the full benefit of the technique  at Playhouse West Los Angeles where I studied for five years.  Since then, I have come across many different schools and teachings, but the Meisner Technique remains the one that, in my opinion, is the most complete resource for any actor.  It is a step my step, clear-cut set of tools that allows for the actor to access his imagination, as well as himself, and build tridimensional, deep, well crafted characters. It is a technique that will literally save you on the days that you come to the theater or the film set uninspired. We are human beings and our bodies, minds and souls are our instrument. It is very common for a performance to go really well one night, or during a take, and not so well the next time around. The Meisner Technique allows for the actor to have such a command of  his instrument, that no matter what, his performance will never go bellow a certain standard." - Andrea Dantas

Are you capable of CONFIDENTLY showing up to an audition with the ohhh so very often asked "monologue" and step into that situation at the highest possible level? Do you  have monologues that showcase your qualities as an actor, or have you chosen something that actually exposes your weaknesses? How can we slip into that slice of a character's life, usually a 2 minute slice, with truth, artistry and confidence? The answer is simple: BY WORKING ON IT.

BUT working on it, in an effective way. Tackling that character's psychology in that particular moment of their lives, and translating that into behavior, by choosing the doings AND ways of doing in an artistic way, among many other tools. If you want to transform the way you audition, this is the perfect course for you.

  • Classes meet on Mondays from 1pm to 4pm
  • Tuition: $165

The Biopic Project is designed to push the serious actor out of his comfort zone by offering him the opportunity to portray an iconic public figure. There is a fine line between a truthful portrayal and a cliche impersonation, and this project provides the actor with legitimate tools that allows for him to confidently go through a step by step process, in order to build a character from the inside out.  During this intensive course, each actor will play an iconic public figure of their choosing, starting by selecting a significant moment in time of that person’s life.
